After arriving at Sainte-Philomène de Fortierville, Marie-Anne looked over the new residence which she and her husband were to share with Télesphore’s parents, Gédéon Gagnon and Louise Lord. Along with all the house’s charm, the couple found a few blankets, linen, pillow-cases, a few women’s clothes and several woollen garments intended for future babies. |

Everything could be found in the huge barrel-top linen chest. Marie-Anne, however, was worried about her future as a wife. |

In December, Télesphore left for the construction sites. Upon returning in April, he learned that Marie-Anne was pregnant with their first child. A few months later, on Thursday, August 1st, 1907, the happy event was upon them. Marie-Jeanne was born and baptized by Father Moreau. |

Late 1908
Returning from the construction site of the Quebec bridge, Télesphore, Anthime and Charles were greeted by Gédéon who asked «How about that? You fellows aren’t at the bottom of the river?»
-The three answered all at once :
-a horrible thing…
-We’ll never see that again in our whole lives!
Marie-Anne was rocking the baby while the men recounted the accident which destroyed the Quebec bridge.
-Anthime said: «You had a baby girl, Marie-Anne?»
-A beautiful girl named Marie-Jeanne, replied Louise.
Three weeks later, in the early morning, Anthime had been looking at the village for a long time. He then entered the church to marry Victoria Vézina.
